Who is responsible for your data

[trading name] () is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [contact email].

1. Your trips never leave your device

The dates and notes you type into the planner are stored only in your browser on your device ("local storage" and "session storage"). They are not sent to us or anyone else, and we cannot see them. The same storage remembers whether you have unlocked the full planner. It also remembers for 30 days a short source tag saying where you came from: the campaign tag in the link if it has one (for example which of our posts it was), otherwise the name of the site or app that sent you (for example "instagram" or "google"), worked out on your device from the referring site's address, the click code a platform adds to its links (only the platform's name is kept, never the code) or the in-app browser's name. That way we can tell which posts and places are useful. You can delete all of it at any time with "Clear all" or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

2. When you buy

You buy through Payhip's checkout. Payhip Limited is the controller of the data it collects at checkout (your email address, your country and the details needed to work out VAT and prevent fraud), under the privacy policy linked on its checkout page. Card payments are processed by Stripe under its privacy policy: stripe.com/gb/privacy. We never see your full card number.

From Payhip we receive: your email address, what you bought, the amount and date, your country, the order reference and your answer to the checkout question about immediate access. We use these to:

  • provide what you bought, resend your unlock code, and handle refunds and support — lawful basis: performing our contract with you;
  • keep business and tax records — lawful basis: legal obligation.

When you click to buy, we add that short source tag (for example which of our posts or which site you came from) to the Payhip checkout link. If Payhip shows that tag with your order, we note it against the order reference only, never against your name or email address, to count which of our posts lead to sales. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which posts are useful.

We keep purchase records for as long as UK tax law requires us to, then delete them. We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.

Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects your card or wallet details, your email address and the information it needs to process the payment and prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/gb/privacy. We never see your full card number.

From Stripe we receive: your email address, the amount and date, your country, and limited payment details (for example card type and last four digits). We use these to:

  • provide what you bought, send or resend your receipt and restore code, and handle refunds and support — lawful basis: performing our contract with you;
  • keep business and tax records — lawful basis: legal obligation.

We keep purchase records for as long as UK tax law requires us to, then delete them. We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.

If you return from checkout with a payment reference in the web address, our server may pass that reference to Stripe once, only to confirm the payment succeeded. We do not store it.

When a payment or refund happens, Stripe sends our server a signed notice. We keep a minimal record of it in our private business records (hosted on GitHub): Stripe's reference numbers, the amount, currency and date, whether it was paid or refunded, and which of our links you came from. This record does not include your name, email address, card details or address. We keep it for our accounts and to count sales.

3. When you email us

We use your email and message only to answer you, and keep them for up to 2 years unless needed longer for a refund or complaint. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering customers.

4. Visitor statistics (only if switched on)

We may use Umami, a cookie-free analytics service, to count page visits and a few anonymous button clicks (for example "free check completed" or "checkout started"), together with that short source tag (for example which of our posts or which site you came from). Umami does not use cookies and we never send it your trip dates, notes, email or payment details. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works.

5. Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic technical information (browser type, time of request) to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

6. Cookies

This website does not set cookies. It uses your browser's storage only to keep your trips and your unlock on your device, which is needed for the service you asked for. Payhip's checkout (on payhip.com) and Stripe's card form use their own cookies for payment and fraud prevention.Stripe's checkout page (on stripe.com) uses its own cookies for payment and fraud prevention.

7. Transfers outside the UK

Payhip, Stripe, Cloudflare, GitHub (our private business records) and (if switched on) Umami may process data outside the UK, for example in the EU or the USA. They use legally recognised safeguards for these transfers — see their privacy policies above.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to data portability. Email [contact email]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
